A safety management system, built in.

We are building a Safety Management System into Volanti: occurrence reporting that is quick to file, safety actions tracked until they are closed, and a risk picture that stays current between meetings.

Not built yet. This page is a statement of intent, and an invitation.

Two problems worth solving

Reporting friction

Reports that are too hard to file

When the occurrence report is a document on a shared drive that has to be found, completed and emailed, many reports are simply never filed. The event gets discussed informally and never recorded, so the safety data is incomplete.

Actions that lapse

Actions that are agreed but not closed

A safety meeting agrees an action and records it in the minutes, but with no owner, due date or tracking, it is easy to lose. Meetings later, no one is sure whether it was ever completed.

What we are building

Report, act, learn

01

Occurrence reporting people will actually use

Reports will be quick to file from a phone, in a form short enough to complete straight after an event, so more of them actually get recorded.

02

Safety actions tracked to closure

Every report will be able to raise actions with an owner and a due date. Open actions stay visible until they are closed, with a record of what was done.

03

A living risk picture

Reports and actions will roll up into a current view of where your risk sits, so safety meetings start from evidence.

Coming soon

Safety data belongs next to operational data.

Your bookings, flights, aircraft and people already live in Volanti. An occurrence report filed against a flight and a person the system already knows is more complete and more accurate than a standalone document. That connection is the reason to build safety management here rather than bolt on a separate tool.

  • Reports reference real flights, aircraft and bookings, with no retyping
  • The people involved are already in the system, with roles and permissions
  • Confidential handling for reporters, to support an open reporting culture
